These pictures were painted 18th century, in other words, between 200 and 300 years ago.
Now in Japan, Samurai has become extinct., but age of these pictures were painted, they walked in many places of Japan.
These monsters are called "Youkai" in Japanese.They are classically ghost, creature, and monster of Japan.Like an European monster The Vampire.
And...Godzilla movies were made after WW2.
